But how does iCloud Passwords perform in real-world scenarios? Let's take a look at user reviews:
-
SS/G: "一応iPhoneのパスワードを使えるようになるのですが、逆にChromeに記録していたパスワードの自動入力が妨害されてしまいます。結果的に不便な場面が目立ちます." (Translation: "I can use iPhone passwords, but it interferes with the automatic input of passwords I recorded in Chrome. As a result, inconvenient situations are noticeable.")
-
Michael Anderson: "Was serviceable for a bit. Not amazing, but it got the job done. Now it's just broken. Clicking the selection prompts me to open iCloud for Windows, even though passwords are already enabled in the application. Apple, please, I know this is Windows, but it's lame that you made it impossible to export passwords to a different manager and then break the functionality of it."
-
Patrick Jahnke: "Bitte bescheid sagen wenn es wieder funktioniert." (Translation: "Please let me know when it works again.")
-
Keilith El Ka'ba: "I don't know what happened to this extension/OS/update over the last couple of weeks, but it now asks for 'approval' in the iCloud settings menu box but nothing happens after the password and 2nd step verification have been entered."
-
Khush Parikh: "Does not sync or work with iCloud anymore."
-
Artem Prikhodko: "Doesn't work."
-
Marco Vicari: "Pessima, le password tra iOS e Chrome non si allineano, se aggiorno da una parte non si aggiornano dall'altra e viceversa. Un pessimo prodotto." (Translation: "Terrible, the passwords between iOS and Chrome do not align, if I update from one side, they do not update from the other side and vice versa. A lousy product.")
-
Hernán Lopez: "Used to work okay. Not well, nor flawless, but it used to work. As of recent, it has stopped loading my password, and I had to start recreating them on my computer, defeating the purpose of the extension."
-
John Collaso: "Loved it while working, just trash now."
-
Massoud Ahmadi: "Excellent."
As you can see, opinions about the iCloud Passwords Chrome extension vary. While some users have experienced difficulties with the extension, others have found it to be excellent. It's important to note that Apple is continuously working to improve its services and address user concerns.
In conclusion, the iCloud Passwords Chrome extension offers Windows users the convenience of accessing their Safari passwords in Chrome, as well as seamless synchronization with iCloud Keychain. 10 Reviews For This Extension
Clumsy to use, constantly asks for the device password.
I so wanted to use this because I migrated all my passwords from Google to Keychain. The reason was I started using Safari on Mac and iPhone to save battery but Safari has lately been full of bugs. It freezes, crashes, does not handoff properly so I decided to move back to chrome because this extension was available but the bugs followed. 1. It does not always work. It forces you to use Passwords in the settings. 2. Does not autofill addresses either and there is no option to use autofill addresses from chrome. It's either all or nothing. 3. Logs you out often. You have to login again after couple of days of not using it.
pretty simple extension. I generally use last pass for everything and will probably continue to do so but I will use this to supplement it. Not many but some sites to cooperate well with the safari extension on my phone for LP. The only reason it's not getting 5 stars is because I wish for Apple's sites where I'm using 2fa, I'd like the code to appear here too, on my taskbar. Oh well, it is what it is for now. Everyone else in the reviews here btching and moaning about having to sign in or reinstall or asking if its secure.....their issue is likely them, not the computer or software. P.I.C.N.I.C's. the extension's not defective...the user is.
Amazing. Now I can use Arc Browser like safari!
asks me to login almost everytime
It asks me to install iCloud for Windows even tough I have it installed. What is happening with this extension that it's making it unavailable? I've tried everything: uninstall, reinstall, remove and add the extension again, even went and edited some permissions in WindowsApps folder and it still would'nt work.
This seems to work very well
ask me to install icloud for windows even if i have installed already
Works fine. The developer seems to be Apple itself, as far as I can tell, so I would think it's safe to use.
works great... question is: IS IT SECURE??? Could this Extension be reading the password and storing it (or distributing it!!)? i don't see anyone else addressing this quesiton. Hope the extension is not reading my password... can you trust it? does any one know for sure? I'm not using this until someone can confirm this with clear evidence that it is not possible for this app to read the passwords.
